Farewell Lunch

Today's lunch was a farewell party for my colleague.
He will work at an another office from next month.
When I was transferred to here, he helped a lot for me.
Because we are coming from the same inter.

Ping-Pong

Yesterday, I went to the table tennis centre with my colleague after working. There is a centre near our office. I went to the table tennis class, when I was a child. But, I was not good player. We played table tennis game with doubles. We divided into a Japanese team and the foreigner team. If our team was defeated, we had to pay the dinner . The result of the game was..... We spent a good time. But, I was tired...

Oversleep

Today, I overslept and was late getting to the office.
I got up at 8:50 this morning. Usually, my job start at 9:00. I arrived in my office at 9:45.
Our office has a super-flexible time system. A super-flexible time system means the flexible time system without core times. I like this system. Because even if I oversleep, I am not late. I have been helped many times by this system up to now.
Thank you super-flexible time system!!

London life-2

13th Feb (Wed)

This morning, I talked host mother about English school and my work while drinking tea. I arrived at Bond Street station at 9:00. I went shopping to drugstore. I bought a hand cream and lip butter. I went to other shops. This shop was selling cool bags. but, it was very expensive for me. Ordinary lesson's teacher was very beautiful woman. I decided to cut my hair like teacher. In tihs lesson, I met 3 new teachers. We tried to job interview to each new teacher. It was very interesting. Conversation class was very bad. It was very bad... After lesson, I went to Harrods with Lucie. Harrods is very famous department store in London. Lucie is a teacher in our school, and she is 27 years old. She is very lovely. I bought 2 strap for mobile and Chinaese-English dictionary in Harrods. In East Finchley, I went to grocery shop when returning to house. I bought cross words book, 2 shortbreads, and some water. After came back home, I did homework with host father.

14th Feb (Thu)

After lesson, I went shopping alone. But, I left the school and lost my way soon... At first, I went to the Burberry shop. I was thought All items was cheaper than Japan, because Burberry was made in UK. But, Burberry in UK was as high as in Japan. I could not buy anything. Secondly, I went Fortnum&Mason to buy tea for my family. This is a shop where a British royal family buy some tea. Then, I moved to Piccadilly Circus. And, I went to the DVD shop. But, I did not buy anything, because the output system for DVD was different between Japan and Britain. I went to Burger King because I was very hungry!! The total amount was about 1000 yen. It was very expensive. I ate Burger King for the first time in my life. It was very delicious!!!!! I returned to the school and I joined the party in the evening. Today is Valentine's Day. I talked with other country's students about family, a movie, a hobby and a each country. English was very difficult though I wanted to tell a lot of Japan. I got a valentine card from my teacher. The party was very good.

15th Feb (Fri)

Today is last lesson. I felt 1 week very quickly. This morning was very cold, but my view was very clear in the outside. My host mother said that you were lucky, because this week was fine every day!! I was very lucky. The tube was very crowded. I was not able to sit in a seat. II arrived at bond Street station at 9:00. I went to the drugstore today, too. I bought some items. The woman of checkout counter said "Have a good day" with the smile every day.Today's ordinary lesson's teacher was a different person. This teacher was teaching English in other Europe countries. And, he came back to this school on this week. In today's conversation class, Turk was very quiet. So, conversation lesson was very good. After lesson, I got the pen from the manager for students. The national flag of UK is drawn in this pen. I ate lunch in the cafe near the school with friends. this lunch was last lunch with friends. I was very sad... After lunch, I went the last shopping and sightseeing. At first, I went to Papercross by tube. This shop was a big stationer's shop. Original item was very cute!! I bought a lot of items. Secondly, I went to Buckingham Palace.There was a lot of people in front of this Palace. And, everyone took the photo. When the flag on the palace climbs, this means there is queen Elizabeth in this palace. I met friends at school by chance in front of this Palace. She gave me tailor's information. I went to this tailor after it had separated from her. In this shop, all shop staff were cool. I bought a lot of clothes. In night, I went to the bar for the salsa with friends. One of the friends was from Colombia. We were dancing. We spent very happy night!!!! But, I met a accident of tube, when returning to the house. The tube stopped before 1 station. I arrived at the house at 11:00P.M. After took shower, I packed my luggage to return to Japan. My luggage was very heavy.

Next day, I took breakfast with a host father and lovely younger brother on the morning. After breakfast, I played a game in PC with lovely younger brother. After played a game, I went to East Finchley station with host father by his car. This was a very nice 1 week for me. I want to go to London again.

Newspaper in the Tube

I found many people who were reading the newspaper in London Tube. Most people were reading free newspaper.
These free newspapers were circulated at the way out of the each station. These free newspapers were a splendid newspaper like a Japanese typical newspaper.
Theses newspapers was left bihind the seat, when finished reading.
So, other person who sat next to person and other person who was sitting next to person begin to read the same newspaper.
As for this system, every person can read the same newspaper. I think this system is good for recycling.
But,,,,, a lot of newspapers that finished reading always left in the Tube.
These newspapers sometimes drop on the floor of the Tube... It is always a little dirty in the Tube.

London life-1

I wrote the diary with English in London every day. So, I will update this diary to my blog with photos.

11th Feb (Mon)
I went to English school by tube. I lived in East Finchley of London for 1 week. My stay style was a homestay. My host family had 3 lovely children. It took about 1 hour from my homestay house to English school. But, I made a mistake in the tube. It became tired very much since the morning. English school was on a center street in London.
Firstly, I took the test to choose the best class. Secondly, I joined class and took the lesson about 1hour. After lesson, I ate lunch in the cafeteria of English school. About daily English school lesson, it was from 9:30 to 13:40. (9:30-12:30:ordinary lesson, 12:40-13:40:conversation lesson.) After lunch, I went to sightseeing of London with some classmates and English teacher.

Sightseeing is as follows;

Piccadilly Circus->National Gallery & Trafalgar Square->Pub (Tea break)->Covent Garden->Sains Bury's->Krispy Kreme Doughnuts ->Dinner(Pizza& Past restaurant)->go home

About my English class, almost of students were from Turkey and Czech Republic. Almost of students at this school were young. Maybe, they are university students. And, I think that they are around 20 years old.

12th Feb (Tue)

This morning, Outside was very hoge and cold. The transfer of tube was smooth. I arrived at the Bond Street station at 8:30. I arrived too early. In London, many shops had opened from early morning. My English school opend at 9:00. So, I went to windows shopping around the station until 9:00. Today's lesson was a relative pronoun. I took the conversation lesson first time today. This class is very roud like a kindergarten. After lesson, I ate lunch in Starbucks coffee near English school. After lunch, I went to sightseeing again with some friends.

Sightseeing is as follows;

London eye->House of Parliament & Big Ben->Tower of London->Tower Bridge->return school->Dinnaer (Mexican restaurant)->theatre (The lord of the rings)->go home

When we went to London eye, we lost our way. We tried to ask the way some people. But, some women did not tell us how it went there. When we said only "Excuse me...", some women said at once, "I do not know". We said only "Excuse me". We were very sad. But, 2 kindly gentlemen tell us the way how to approach there. When we returned to school, we met tube accident. After dinner, we went to theatre to watch "The lord of the rings"with teachers. The dance and the song of this play were wonderful. But, I did not understand the important for the story, because they spoke English very fast.

I came back to Japan!!

I stayed in London for one week. I came back to Japan on yesterday morning. The weather of London was nice. I think that London was warmer than Japan. I am very sleepy now... Because, the time difference is 8 hours between London and Japan... So, today is holiday, too.

Present from Turkey

This morning, the small luggage delivered to our office from Turkey!!!!!
Maybe, this is a present for Valentine.
This is a small cake made in Turkey.
This cake is like the rice cake of Japan.
Why was this cake sent to our office?
Our group supports relatived company all over the world.
I might have eaten a cake all over the world.....

Happy New Year Again!!

Today is Chinese New Year!!
Yesterday was New Year's Eve.
Chinese people usually make & eat chaozu (gyo-za) with family on New Year's Eve.
I took a dinner at a restaurant with Chinese's friends yesterday.
We ate not the chaozu (gyo-za) but Japanese food.
It was delicious!!

Lip butter

I am Chinese New Year mode now.....

Because all companies of which I am taking charge are on vacation for Chinese New Year.

I got the lip butter from my colleague.

This lip butter was made in Australia.

My colleague is visiting Australia now!!

The flavor of this lip butter is reberry.

The flavor is very sweet.

Reberry is fruits that can be harvested only in Australia.

I tried this lip butter by my lip.

Unfortunately,,, this lip butter did not fit my lip.

Actually, my skin is sensitive to a lot of cosmetics.

So, I gave this lip to another colleague!!

New DVD

I got new DVD yesterday.
I watched this new DVD last night.
The title is a "last caution".
This is Chinaese movie.
Do you know this DVD?
This movie is now showing at the movie theater in Japan.
It is secret why I have this DVD.
I had one problem of this movie.
The subtitles of this movie is Chinese.
Chinese has two different type.
One is simplified characters, and another is traditional characters.
The subtitles of this movie was only traditional characters.
Maybe, taditional characters is same as an old Japanese Kanji.
I have never studied this traditional characters.
(And,,,,,, I was science course.)
I studied only simplified characters.

Snow !! Snow !! again

Yesterday, It snowed again in our town.
I gave up though I tried to make a snowman.
Because it was very cold in outside.
I do not like cold season.
But,,,, I love to play in the snow.

There is "Snow" in a traditional winter song in Japan.
The dog runs with pleasure at snowing about the outside according to this song.
Buuuuuuuuuuuut, my watchdog was in the house all day long.
Are you a dog?????

Yesterday was "Setsubun". (On 3rd Feb.)
I ate "Ehoumaki".
It was very delicious.

Meaning of Japanese Kanji

There are 5 foreigners in our office now.
The common language of our company is English.
But, we use Japanese when we send mail to Japanese and we speak with Japanese.
I am sometimes questioned by foreigner's colleague about meaning of Japansese kanji.
I was the science course..... I do not know a lot of Kanji.
In my new electronic dictionary is including a Japanese dictionary!!!!!
It is very useful for me in our office.
Can you explain the meaning of Japanese kanji below?

・流石(Sasuga)・・・This kanji is not read as "Nagareishi" .
・五月雨式(Samidare-shiki)・・・This kanji is not read as "gogatsuame-shiki".
・御足労(Gosokurou)・・・This kanji is not read as "Oashirou" .
